Career Coaching
Career guidance that works with your whole life, not against it. Make work sustainable, not exhausting.
Riding the Waves, Not Fighting the Current
Traditional career advice assumes everyone can "hustle 24/7," attend networking events after work, or maintain rigid schedules. It rarely accounts for energy levels, schedule needs, or personal circumstances—factors that profoundly impact your ability to perform and thrive.
For professionals managing anxiety, depression, burnout, or other mental health conditions, this one-size-fits-all approach often leads to cycles of overwork and exhaustion, inconsistent work patterns, or feeling like you're constantly fighting against yourself.
Here's the reality: Organizations optimize for productivity. Traditional career advice teaches you to optimize yourself for organizations. But what if you designed your career around what actually sustains you?
We help you find careers and strategies that work for you—accounting for your whole self, not just your resume. Think of it like riding the waves of your emotions and energy rather than resisting.
Whether you're actively job searching, considering a career change, managing workplace challenges, returning to work after a break, or redesigning your career, we provide practical, mental health-informed guidance grounded in actionable strategies.
The goal isn't just to find a job—it's to build a career that works with who you are, not against you.
Where Career Meets Mental Health
Your therapist and doctor provide essential mental health care—helping you manage symptoms, process emotions, and develop coping skills. That's their expertise, and it's invaluable.
Traditional career coaches offer career advice—but rarely account for how mental health conditions impact your ability to work, your energy levels, or why "just network more" isn't always realistic.
There's a gap between these two worlds—and that's where Career Wavelength works.
We fuse career development expertise with organizational psychology and mental health-informed guidance, helping you build a career that accounts for your whole self. Drawing on evidence-based career development theory and doctoral-level understanding of organizational systems, we help you answer questions like:
- How do I find work that aligns with my energy and values?
- What types of work environments suit my needs and circumstances?
- How do I explain career gaps or transitions in interviews?
- How do I set boundaries that actually stick?
- How can I build a sustainable career and avoid burnout?
- How do I navigate organizational dynamics when my needs and employer priorities don't align?
- What does work-life balance actually look like for me?
We don't replace your healthcare team—we complement them. Your therapist focuses on your mental health. Your doctor manages your treatment. We focus on your career, with deep understanding of how mental health, organizational systems, and work intersect.

Is Career Wavelength Right for You?
We meet you where you are, but how do you know when the time is right? Here's some factors to consider. If now's not the right time, we encourage you to check out our workshops (coming soon!) or to return once you're feeling ready - no pressure!
Yes, This Is For You
You're a mid-career professional experiencing burnout or career challenges
You're managing anxiety, depression, stress, or other mental health conditions but daily functioning is manageable
You have some self-awareness about your mental health and are currently in a stable state
You want practical strategies that account for your whole self, not just career tactics
You're ready to take action and redesign your career to work for you
Let's Talk First
You're currently experiencing significant mental health symptoms that are affecting your daily functioning, but aren't in crisis
You've been working inconsistently due to mental health challenges and want to build sustainability, but are not currently in financial crisis
You're not sure if you're ready to make changes or take action yet (that's okay - the free consultation can help you figure out next steps)
You're concerned about cost but not in immediate crisis (we can discuss options)
This Probably Isn't The Right Fit
You are looking for clinical mental health treatment or are currently in a mental health crisis
You're in financial crisis and need a job within days or weeks to avoid housing instability (list of resources can be provided upon request).
You're looking for resume or cover letter writing services (we can provide referrals)
You're seeking job placement services or guaranteed employment outcomes
You prefer coaching focused purely on technical career advice without discussing mental health
Financial Assistance Consideration
If cost is a barrier, don't let that stop you from reaching out.
We understand that people who most need career support often face financial challenges. As such, we offer financial assistance on a case-by-case basis for those experiencing hardship.
To be considered, please complete the financial assistance application. Each request is reviewed individually, and while assistance can't be guaranteed for every applicant, we're committed to working with people where we can.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes! We offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation to answer questions and help you determine which service would be most helpful for your situation.
How do sessions work?
All sessions are conducted virtually via Zoom, making them accessible from wherever you are. This also allows for flexibility in scheduling around your energy levels and needs.
Sessions are conversational, collaborative, and action-oriented. You'll leave with specific strategies and next steps you can implement immediately. Caroline's style is warm, direct, and practical — no corporate jargon or one-size-fits-all advice.
Do you accept insurance?
No. Caroline is a career coach, not a therapist, so her services are not covered by health insurance. However, some employers offer professional development funds that may cover career coaching.
How do I know if I need coaching or therapy?
If you're struggling with mental health symptoms, processing trauma, or need clinical support, please work with a licensed therapist. Career coaching is most effective when you're in a relatively stable mental state and have some self-awareness about your mental health.
If you're navigating career decisions, job search challenges, workplace situations, or professional development while managing mental health conditions, career coaching can help. You can (and many do) work with both a therapist and a career coach simultaneously.
Can I work with you if I don't have a mental health condition?
Absolutely! While Caroline has specialized expertise in mental health-informed career coaching, our services benefit anyone who wants thoughtful, personalized career guidance that accounts for their whole life.
